Completely awesome! I loved it! Spock! Other Spock! Scotty! McCoy! Kirk! Chekov! Sulu! Uhura! Loved them all!

I really enjoyed the bits they threw in for fanatical fans like me. Did anyone else notice Admiral Komack?

Things I liked:

"I never took the Kobayashi Maru." -- Well, now we know why.
"I have been and always shall be your friend." -- Sigh.
I'm fairly sure James Doohan's son played the security guard Kirk called "cupcake".
Hikaru Sulu and Nyota Uhura. Finally.
Pike in a wheelchair.
Chekov is seventeen.
Spock quoting Sherlock Holmes.
What happened to George Samuel Kirk, Jr.? I thought he was Kirk's *older* brother.

Things I didn't like:

They blew up Vulcan. Come on. How could they blow up Vulcan?

I want to see it again. Now.

Squeeeee!
Yaaaayyy!!! I just got back from taking Mom to ST for Mother's Day. It absolutely rocked!!!!

Not enough Scotty, but what there was was awesome. It was much funnier than I expected. *All* the cast members did a great job and I thought they really captured the characters. Sulu with a sword! And the look on Kirk's face when Sulu told him what kind of combat training he had! And "Kirk, you too, you're not supposed to be here anyway." I said to Mom, "Well, he's good in a barfight."

Which one was Admiral Komack? I missed that. Spock and Old Spock were amazing. I imagine your old crush on that character has been rebooted along with the franchise. I sure hope they make more.

I'll go again with you if you want. Did I mention squeeeee?

Ack! I need to see this NOW!
Mark has promised to go with me in a week or so after I get back from Chicago.
How can I concentrate on a silly little thing like college for Sophie when this movie is out there and I haven't seen it yet?
Sometimes motherhood is a problem.

I loved it too. Heck, I think Scotty had the best lines...definately the most laughs. LOL

The missing older brother was a question for me, too, especially since divergence of the time line should happen post arrival of Nero. Perhaps the brother was old enough to be home with grandparents or at boarding school as they did not have family ships during this period (that I am aware of) and both parents were in Star Fleet. We did learn that young Kirk's mother was away when he stole the car.

I liked the comment about Admiral Archer's prize beagle.

Saw it today and now have gone back and read this. Loved the references ( caught Archer's beagle) and the characters. Brilliant. Might see it again. Closed my eyes for a bit with Pike.

Some idiot brought his young kids. So not kidsafe. Intense and omg green blood on the sword!

Agreed re: kids.

It would be *far* too intense for our kids (age 7) even discounting the stabbings. I've got my doubts about PG-13, frankly. Maybe PG-15.

We just saw it yesterday in Imax.
Well no wonder Chapel never got anywhere with Spock :-)
Am I the only one who say the ball of red goo and though ... Omega 13?
My sweetie, who isn't as into Holmes as I am, got the Holmes quote ... boy can I pick 'em :-)
Why was that old Klingon jailor (from Rurapente) in charge of the Vulcan Science Academy?
Caught the beagle bit.
Did you notice the California Bear Flag is the Starfleet hall at the end?
Much fun. Lets have more with better villans.
